Meet Daisy the cow!

Donview Practice News Leave a Comment

Susanna was out on a farm today performing a TB test (all cattle have to be tested regularly). Along came a really friendly cow for her test; it turns out she was the farmers pet cow called Daisy that he had hand reared. Susanna fell in love as Daisy was such a star and couldn’t resist a selfie!

Ticks being repelled by an effective treatment

Tick video – click to view

Look away if you don’t like beasties! This is a great video showing how effective tick treatments prevent ticks feeding and therefore spreading diseases like Lymes disease to our pets. Most tick treatments do not work this way – ticks have to feed first, please give us a call or pop in for advice on how best to protect your pet. (The product used in the video is a prescription only medicine so we are legally not allowed to tell you what it is online, we can only tell you face to face!)

New technology in Veterinary Medicine!

Donview Veterinary News Leave a Comment

New technology in veterary medicine
Imagine if your pet could swallow this ‘pill’ which contains a camera and we could get a video recording of the inside of their intestinal system!

Well the technology is here! We have just come across a company in the US (Alicam) that produces these pill cameras.

An email is on its way enquiring into costs etc but if it’s affordable it would change the way we investigate pets with gut problems – seeing the entire intestine with no anaesthetic!

The futures here!

Only one bit of bad news…someone has to find it when it comes out the other end and unfortunately they will be at home when that happens!

Sorry!
