Donview Practice News

Charlie took his new puppy, Alfie. It was Alfie’s first school visit and he LOVED meeting the children! Charlie told the kids all about working as a Vet, how to look after their pets and the children got to play with a stethoscope and a few other Vet tools!

**Anyone thinking of taking their pet into Europe next year please read this link – if we leave with a no deal passports will not be valid and we do not know how the EU will treat our pets if this happens, travel may be very tricky so its worth considering this before you book any trips! We may have to prepare for a travel certificate 5-4 months before travel, so if you are planning on going in the Spring it may not be possible as there wont be enough time once a decision is made! https://ift.tt/2zqOzKK

Hot hedgehogs!

Donview Automated

During this lovely weather please have a think of the wildlife that may appear in your garden. A shallow bowl of water can save a wee hedgehog from becoming dehydrated. πŸ¦”β˜€οΈ

This hedgehog is not dancing! He’s suffering from dehydration, causing an unsteady, weak walk. Please put a shallow dish of water out for animals to enjoy, it is so important in such hot dry weather! Note that dehydrated hogs can be found at any time of the year and in any weather, as illness or injury can also result in dehydration. Always pick up and find help as soon as possible for a hedgehog like this, or any out in the daytime that are small, and or sleepy/slow moving, they will need specialist treatment.
